In industrial workshops with multiple VFD systems, electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a common issue. Round shielded cables provide good protection, but they occupy too much space in dynamic cable routing systems.

Our Shielded flat ribbon cable solves this conflict between space and shielding performance. It combines a high-quality shielding structure with a flat cable design.

A tinned copper braid is tightly wrapped around the flat conductor structure, achieving a shielding coverage of over 85%. This effectively blocks external EMI. At the same time, the flat structure prevents tangling and reduces the risk of snagging in cable guides during motion.

Uniform Shielding Across a Flat Structure

Maintaining consistent shielding performance in a flat structure is technically more challenging than in round cables. Round cables benefit from mature and stable braiding processes, while flat cables require precise guidance during shielding to ensure uniform coverage across both width and thickness.

We use dedicated flat braiding equipment to ensure stable and even shielding distribution across the entire cable surface. This is critical-any weak point in shielding coverage may allow interference to enter the system.

The insulation layer uses a high-elasticity flexible compound that resists cracking under repeated bending. The outer jacket is a one-piece reinforced flat structure, providing strong resistance to abrasion, stretching, and mechanical stress.

We have extensive experience in the production of shielded flat cables, with full in-house control of the entire manufacturing process, including conductor stranding, insulation extrusion, shielding braiding, and flat jacket extrusion.

A: Yes. The flat structure performs well in vibrating environments. Compared to round cables, the mass distribution is more stable in a single plane, which reduces oscillation and resonance effects.
The shielding braid is tightly constructed, and the jacket has strong resistance to stretching and fatigue. This allows the cable to maintain structural integrity under continuous vibration.
